Membership
All sports clubs are encouraged to affiliate to the Sports Council at a cost of £15 per club per year. The benefits include an information service, which provides up to date information on the various activities of the local sports council, sportscotland, Scottish Assocaiation of local sports councils, Scottish Borders Council's Sports Development Unit and other local and national bodies.

Individuals can also affiliate to the local sports council, the criteria for affiliation stipulates that there is no sports club in the area for them to join, or the athlete has a standard of performance that requires the individual to travel outwith the area to access the desired level of coaching.
